Community Consultation

Creativity Team

  • Hearts of Engagement – Training on community consultation techniques linked to the Duty to Involve. (2009)

Herefordshire Council

  • Stakeholder engagement in the Local Economic Assessment (LEA) – setting up and facilitating the engagement of businesses in consultation feeding into the production of the LEA. (2011)
  • ‘Your community – your say’ – countywide public consultation to help inform Herefordshire Council budget setting. This work included recruiting and training young community researchers. (2012)

  • Waterways Action Squad - Evaluation of the Waterways Action Squad youth volunteering project. (2011)

  • Evaluation of year 1 on the CLASP project and partnership. (2010)

Creativity Team

  • Places, Spaces and identity (II) Evaluatio – Evaluation of arts and regeneration programme across Stoke in conjunction with Staffordshire University. (2009)

Groundwork UK

  • Young People Friendly Neighbourhood Programme – Evaluation of the three year YPFN programme delivered by 18 Groundwork Trusts. This evaluation involved consultation with young people, communities and the public sector to gauge the extent to which young people were empowered by the programme. The final report contributed to a review of Groundwork’s future work with young people. (2008)

  • Evaluation of three year BASIS funded programme.

Organisational Development

Children of Peace

  • Strategic Planning and developing a Business Plan and Fundraising Strategy (2010-11)
  • Facilitation of a Board away day and related training (2010-11)

Community First Wiltshire

  • Community Transport Service Evaluation - An evaluation of the community transport services for Wiltshire and Swindon. This involved face to face interviews and focus groups with young people and migrant workers. The final report contributed to the development of the service as part of the Community Transport Development Strategy. (2009)

Disability Arts Shropshire (DASH)

  • A skills audit with Trustees and strategic planning activity. (2009)

Groundwork UK

  • Facilitation of staff conference

Putson Community Association

  • Feasibility study and the development of a business plan to support the creation of a new multi-purpose community centre in Putson, Hereford. (2010)

Worcestershire Voices

  • The development of a new model for third sector leadership, engagement and representation in Worcestershire.

  • Benchmarking exercise with the network of 38 rural community councils to measure their delivery and port for money against 6 key policy areas. (2012)

Big Lottery

  • Citizens’ Voice - Scoping study to inform the development of the Citizen’s Voice programme in Wales. (2010)

Community Sector Coalition

  • Routes to Empowerment – a community sector perspective – Evaluating the contribution of the community sector to community empowerment. This work was commissioned by the Community Sector Coalition and resulted in a publication; Routes to Empowerment a Community Sector Perspective (2008)

  • Community Sector Leadership Review - Action research which involved running a series of focus groups to test out the idea of community sector leadership and gather personal experiences of leadership within communities. (2009)

  • A Guide to Empowering Young People – Production of a user-friendly practitioners guide to support the work conducted with young people. (2009)
  • Rural Scoping Review – Work with Groundwork Trusts to explore a strategic approach to rural development across the network. (2009)

Herefordshire Access to Services Partnership

  • Developing Access to Services Indicators for Herefordshire – A review of the existing evidence base, the development of indicators and recommendations for future strategic interventions. (2009)

Shropshire Voluntary and Community sector Assembly

  • Extended Partnerships project – action research project to develop mutually beneficial relationships between the vcs and the private sector. (2012-on-going)

South East Rural Community Councils

  • Developing Community Led Planning Quality Standards - Quality Standards for Communities and Local Authorities to support the Community Led Planning process. (2010)
  • Making the link between Community Led Planning and NI4 – Research to establish and demonstrate the link between Community Led Plans and NI4 and show how this evidence can be collected and used in the Comprehensive Area Assessment. (2010)

South East Empowerment Partnership

  • Supporting and Championing Empowerment – producing advocacy document and guidance on empowerment aimed at local authority offices and Councillors. Developing and running empowerment training programme aimed at Councillors and producing case studies to reflect a range of empowerment activity. (2011)

West Midlands Rural Community Action Network

  • Parish Plans Community Empowerment and Engagement – This research involved consultation with communities and the public sector to explore the link between community led planning and empowerment. (2008)
